ITINERARY

Distance: 11 Km,Time: 5–7 Hours and Habitat: Rainforest.

  • After registration at Machame Gate, start your trek through dense rainforest, with towering trees and moss-covered roots. The trail can be muddy and slippery — trekking poles are handy!
  • Arrive at Machame Camp in the late afternoon.
  • Overnight: Machame Camp.
  • Meals: Lunch & Dinner.
  • Distance: 5 KM ,Time: 4–6 HOURS and Habitat: Moorland.

  • Climb steeply through open moorland, gaining altitude steadily. The vegetation changes as giant heathers and lobelias replace the dense forest.Arrive at Shira Plateau, with stunning views of Mount Meru in the distance.
  • Overnight: Shira Camp.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.
  • Distance: 10 KM ,Time: 6-7 HOURS and Habitat: Semi-desert.

  • A long acclimatization day! Ascend gradually to Lava Tower (4,600m), where you’ll stop for lunch — this helps your body adapt to altitude. Descend down to Barranco Camp (3,960m), located in a valley below the impressive Barranco Wall.
  • Overnight: Barrance Camp.
  • Meals: Breakfast,Lunch & Dinner.
  • Distance: 5 KM ,Time: 4-5 HOURS and Habitat: Alpine desert.

  • Start by climbing the famous Barranco Wall, a thrilling but non-technical scramble offering amazing views. After reaching the top, follow a series of ridges and valleys to Karanga Camp, where you’ll rest and prepare for the higher climb.
  • Overnight: Karanga Camp
  • Meals: Breakfast,Lunch & Dinner.
  • Distance: 4 KM ,Time: 4-5 HOURS and Habitat: Alpine desert.

  • A short but steep climb brings you to Barafu Camp, the final camp before the summit. The name Barafu means “ice” in Swahili — expect cold temperatures and strong winds. Have an early dinner and rest before the midnight summit attempt.
  • Overnight: Barafu Camp.
  • Meals: Breakfast,Lunch & Dinner.
  • Distance: 17 km total (7 km ascent, 10 km descent) ,Time: 10-14 HOURS and Habitat: Arctic -Moorland.

  • Begin your summit push at midnight, climbing through scree and icy slopes to Stella Point (5,756m) on the crater rim. Continue along the rim to reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m) — the Roof of Africa! Celebrate briefly, take photos, then descend to Barafu Camp for rest, and continue down to Mweka Camp for overnight.
  • Overnight: Mweka Camp.
  • Meals: Breakfast,Lunch & Dinner.
  • Distance: 10 KM ,Time: 3-4 HOURS and Habitat: Rainforest.

  • Descend through lush rainforest trails back to Mweka Gate, where you’ll receive your summit certificate. Transfer to Moshi for hot showers, rest, and celebration dinner!
